Urbanization of Arm M~vem~~s in Three-dimensional Space. Wrist Motion Is Piecewise Planar

چکیده
Abstmet-4 is shown that human subjects are incapable of producing with the arm, in free space, planned or extemporaneously drawn trajectories in which the plane of wrist motion changes smoothly or continuously. The three-dimensional nature of these movements results from the fact that the plane of motion changes abruptly from one segment of the trajectory to the next, being conii~& to one plane during each segment (i,e. piecewise ptanar].

Path constraints on point-to-point arm movements in three-dimensional space.
In this paper data are presented concerning the kinematic and dynamic characteristics of point-to-point arm movements which are inwardly or outwardly directed in three-dimensional space. Elbow and wrist position as well as elbow angle of extension were measured. From these data, other angles were computed trigonometrically and elbow and shoulder torques were calculated. Some of the angles descr...
متن کاملA Real-time Motion Tracking Wireless System for Upper Limb Exosuit Based on Inertial Measurement Units and Flex Sensors (TECHNICAL NOTE)
This paper puts forward a real-time angular tracking (motion capture) system for a low cost upper limb exosuit based on sensor fusion; which is integrated by an elastic sleeve-mitten, two inertial measurement units (IMU), two flex sensors and a wireless communication system. The device can accurately detect the angular position of the shoulder (flexion-extension, abduction-adduction and interna...
متن کاملThrust - Limited Optimal Three - Dimensional Spacecraft Trajectories
Several optimal three-dimensional orbital transfer problems are solved for thrust-limited spacecrafts using collocation and nonlinear programming techniques. The solutions for full nonlinear equations of motion are obtained where the integrals of the free Keplerian motion in three dimensions are utilized for coasting arcs. In order to limit the solution space, interior-point constraints are use...
متن کاملA Case Report of Periscaphoid and Perilunate Dislocation of the Wrist
An Extremely rare case of periscaphoid and perilunate dislocation of the wrist is reported. The reported case is a young man with trauma following a motor cycle falling down. At first referral closed reduction and six weeks of long arm cast had been performed. The patient reffered to our hospital because of painful and limited range of motion. He underwent open reduction and internal fixatio...
متن کاملOrganization of arm movements. Motion is segmented.
A kinematic analysis of human arm trajectories which underlie the production of learned, continuous movements (such as drawing of 'figure 8s' and stars) in free space is presented. The objective of this investigation was to see if a set of rules, which had been identified previously and which are appropriate for generating circular or elliptical motion of the wrist in an arbitrary plane, also h...
